We have a special treat for you today. With SolidSmack growing like rustic mountain pines, we’re bringing on more writers. The first of the new SolidSmack crew is none other that Colorado native, Jeffrey Matthias. Jeffrey brings his experience in furniture design, fabrication and gadgetry of various sorts to the fold. He prods, pokes and isn’t afraid to give his opinion. He’s had a lot of input on SolidSmack and is part of the reason for the awesome bits of content you’ve seen in the past and will see more of in the future (not just stories about CNC and iPad styli either.) Here’s a little more about Mr. Matthias. Welcome him and be on the lookout for more articles by the fab-man from Colorado.

‘SolidSmack News’
Punch SolidSmack Repeatedly… Win an iPod Nano.
Maybe ‘Punch’ is a bit to harsh? It’s actually more like a firm jabbing with the blunt end of an answered question… multiple questions. Vicious, I know, but it will all be worth it for reasons you will soon be able to feast your eyes upon. If you’ve been kneeling waist deep in porridge, watching the site in the warm, oaty comfort, you may have noticed some slight changes… some site outages and also some irregular post movements. It’s all part of our plan for SolidSmack V3. We’re getting ready for the launch, bringing on new writers, focusing the content… but before we do all of that, we want to hear from you. We’ve got a awe-inspiring, 2-minute survey for ya and along with it a chance to win a wee fancy iPod nano. Ready?
The SolidSmack Year-end Smacktastic Smack Up
It’s finally over. We can take off the gas masks, stuff the confetti back in our shirts and look forward to a new year of sweet product design, cool technology, SolidWorks and other cad-related goodness.
Not that we didn’t have some great fun with some great topics over the past year. In fact, a tiny person who just threw champagne in my face, said many posts were quite superb, while a few made him cover his eyes to keep them from popping out their sockets. Goal achieved, I say. Here’s what we’ve got.
2 Years, 800 Posts and a Fab New Look.
I’m excited. Are you excited? The crinkly wrapper is coming off and it’s about dang time. Today, July 1st, after two years (and two months) of tinkering with graphics, plugins and a soupy mixture of html code, we’re launching the all new SolidSmack.
It’s shiny, don’t ya think. But that’s not all there is to it. This is a new day for what’s going on with SolidSmack as well. This is also a testbed of sort. One, to find better ways of sharing cool content with you and two, to make it more a more engaging experience for you. Here’s the details on some of the design and what’s to come.
