First Impression: Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet

Lenovo Releases Designers’ Dream Tablet–Fails to
Market it to Designers

I used to keep a watch on every sub-$700 tablet coming to the market. I was looking for a magical combination of specs that would make it the perfect budget Cintiq. After CES 2011′s disappointing announcements, the closest there was to what I wanted was the 7″ HTC Flyer. So, having found the best capacitive stylus out there, I bought an iPad and stopped trying to keep up with the endless parade of new Android Tablets. SolidSmack reader Avin tipped us off over the weekend to a tablet that—for a couple of reasons—had skated by unnoticed by the tech or designer crowds. The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet is the closest thing to a Cintiq on the cheap. It’s too bad they have failed to market it that way. Engadget Gets Handsy With Wacom’s Cintiq 24HD
and Inkling

Engadget’s Sharif Sakr spent some hands on time with Wacom’s newest two products the Cintiq 24HD and the Inkling. If you’ve got a space of 15 minutes, you can watch videos and demos with a Wacom rep after the break. After reviewing the info available on both of these products, these are the most notable things that haven’t been dredge up previously.

Stylus Jabbing Fun Using SolidWorks on a Wacom Cintiq Tablet

So, I’m sitting here throwing make-shift tablet styluseseseses at my face waiting for a massive Cintiq 21″ tablet to arrive so I can test it out, when I see Jordan Tadic from 3D Vision showing off how he used SolidWorks on a Wacom Cintiq.

It’s tablet pickin’ fun of the highest caliber… or next to highest caliber. Check out the video overdubbed with Mystic Bounce by DJ Madlib… some right proper tunage for such sketchin’ and groovin’. After you see it, what do you think? Would you want to use one?
