The Galileo Robo-iPhone Turret, Controlled with Your Nubbins’

This is a robotic turret for your iPhone. It’s called the Galileo because Galileo himself was a robot, with hidden gun turrets. Fact. Unlike the Italian physicist, this iPhone platform has infinite spherical rotation capability and can be operated from remote locations. It’s the brainchild of Josh Guyot and JoeBen Bevirt, the duo who brought you the Gorillapod flexible camera tripod, and… the project is fully funded (and then some) on Kickstarter.

Unhappiness Alert: The models don’t actually pop out of the screen.

I know, it’s hard to believe you’ve been without 3D viewing in AutoCAD WS all these years, but turn those tears of sorrows into finger slaps of joy. You can now view your 3D AutocCAD files on AutoCAD WS in… 3D (granted Turboviewer did this 6 months ago) “What? You didn’t go there did you?” I DID. Autodesk also has a few other features up its sleeve for this new update of AutoCAD WS.

Where’s My Scan-and-print 3D Copier?

The moment when a 3D printer and a 3D scanner are combined into a single product… hasn’t happened, yet. But, we’re pretty sure there would be some positive returns for both the manufacturer and the consumer market. A great number of people would love to replicate the cups and spoons they already have instead of buying them. God knows what traditional manufacturers would think though. So, why haven’t we seen a scan-and-print 3d copier? And, what would it take to create it?
